Circles and RoundtablesThroughout the coming months The Alliance for Holistic Aging (AHA) in conjunction with Connections Unlimited LLC will be convening a number of circles and roundtables throughout the Denver Metro area. See our calendar of events for dates and locations. Our intention is to give consumers, professionals, businesses (and others) an informal venue to listen, learn, and engage in pro-active dialogue and discussion on the full range of issues impacting individuals, families and communities as we age. Whether your concerns are how to reach the boomer market or age in place; have enough money to retire or stay active and involved when you do; take care of a loved one and still find time for yourself; move from crisis care to preventative care; approach death with dignity; or anything else related to aging . . . you’ll be amazed by what you can learn through a bit of simple conversation. Space for these Circles is limited. To sign up for participation in any of the discussions listed above, be placed on our e-mail list for future circles or serve as an organizational sponsor for a circle of your own please contact Jeff Rubin at: 303-904-6812 jeff@holisticaging.org or Joni Seivert at: 303-232-3359 askjoni@itsnever2late.com. Conveners of Conversation Margaret J. Wheatley author of Turning to One Another: simple conversations to restore hope for the future believes we can change the world if we start listening to one another again. “Simple, honest, human conversation not mediation, negotiation, problem solving, debate, or public meetings. Simple, truthful conversation where we each have a chance to speak, we each feel heard, and we each listen well.” Alliance for Holistic Aging believes strongly in the work of Margaret Wheatley and the power of conversation to educate, inform, engage and change the way people think, act or respond. Using the “Four Pillars” approach as our foundation our intent is to promote holistic aging by engaging in conversation through the use of circles, roundtables, and forums. Our approach can be applied in a variety of settings and our intent is to engage a broad spectrum of intergenerational voices and culturally, socially and economically diverse individuals, organizations, and businesses in the process. * Small groups *A Circle can be a one-time or on-going activity depending upon the wishes of the group Round Tables * Larger groups *Topics are normally generated from circle discussions Professional Show and Tell A “professional” version of simple conversation allows you the opportunity to tell your story to a targeted group of professionals. Let us help you to introduce and demonstrate innovative products and services and show off your business in a comfortable, informal, and social setting. Interact and gain feed back while you broaden your circle of contacts and make new friends. |
